Osceola Chamber Board Introduction - FTC Florida Technical College

Osceola Chamber Board Introduction

For more than 40 years, NUC University Florida Technical College (NUC FTC) has delivered career-focused post-secondary training in specialized business and technical fields. With eight campuses across the state, NUC FTC’s programs continue to evolve to meet the needs of students and Florida’s growing workforce.

As an accredited institution and member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, NUC FTC is committed to academic excellence and workforce readiness. Beyond the classroom, the college serves as a catalyst for positive change – championing diversity, supporting underserved communities, and fostering inclusive economic growth across Florida.

Through strategic partnerships with mission-aligned organizations – including the Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Rays, and Miami Dolphins – NUC FTC extends its impact as a trusted community partner.

Under the leadership of Dr. James Michael Burkett, FTC has redefined its mission, expanded its footprint across Florida, and solidified its reputation as a model for inclusive workforce development and educational innovation. This includes the recent opening of the NUC University School of Nursing in both Kissimmee and Tampa.

Dr. Burkett’s bold vision has earned him widespread recognition, including the prestigious Don Quixote Hispanic Community Champion Award and, most recently, the 2025 Eagle Award for Corporate Engagement Recognition.
