KISSIIMMEE, FL. In a resounding affirmation of their dedication to serving and enhancing the local community, Florida Technical College (FTC) has teamed up with former NBA player and Orlando Magic ambassador Bo Outlaw for a Thanksgiving initiative to support families in need in Kissimmee.
As the holiday season approaches, FTC recognizes the importance of supporting families in need. In alignment with their commitment to social responsibility, FTC will donate turkeys to each one of the families living in a local shelter for domestic abuse victims and their families. Bo Outlaw’s charity, “Helping Others Make Effort (H.O.M.E.),” which has been actively contributing to the community since 2019, is at the forefront of this compassionate endeavor.
“The joy derived from our holiday turkey donation partnership is immeasurable,” said Dr. James Michael Burkett, president of FTC. “It’s not just a gesture; it’s a commitment. As a higher education institution, uplifting our community is not only a desire but a responsibility we embrace with pride.”
The generous donations come not only from Bo Outlaw’s network of friends, but also from dedicated organizations such as Florida Technical College and FL Bakery & Restaurant. This collaborative effort underscores the shared commitment to uplifting the community and providing assistance to those facing hardships.
This initiative reflects FTC’s ongoing efforts to make a positive impact beyond the realm of education. By extending a helping hand during the holidays, FTC aims to bring warmth and joy to families, embodying the spirit of FTC Cares.
