Update October 7, 2024, at 8:00 pm
NUC FTC UPDATE HURRICANE MILTON
Dear Students,
NUC University, Florida Technical College is closely monitoring Hurricane Milton and its potential impact on our campus communities. Due to this, classes at the Tampa campus ONLY will be canceled starting Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The Learning Management System (Canvas) will remain accessible until Thursday, October 10, 2024.
For the Orlando, Deland, Kissimmee, and Lakeland campuses, we are implementing the following updates:
- On-site/Blended classes will proceed as scheduled on Monday, October 7, 2024.
- Tuesday, October 8, 2024 will serve as a make-up day for all on-site classes scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:20 PM only. Final exams for courses scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:20 PM will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
- On-site classes will be canceled starting Tuesday, October 8 at 1:00 PM, as well as on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, and Thursday, October 10, 2024.
- The Learning Management System (Canvas) will remain accessible until Thursday, October 10, 2024.
- Classes scheduled to meet during the afternoon and evening shifts will have access to course content and exams via the Canvas Platform.
- Externship students should confirm closures with their site supervisors and take necessary precautions when traveling.
- Students scheduled for certification exams at the Deland, Orlando, Kissimmee, Lakeland, and Tampa campuses will be notified of any changes. Remote exams will continue as scheduled unless otherwise noted.
- Classes will resume as usual on Monday, October 14, 2024.

NUC FTC UPDATE TROPICAL STORM MILTON
Dear Students,
NUC University, Florida Technical College is closely monitoring the path of Hurricane Milton and its potential impact on our campus communities, students, and staff. Based on the current forecast, we are implementing the following updates for classes and final exams at the Orlando, Deland, Kissimmee, Lakeland, and Tampa campuses:
- On-site/Blended classes will proceed as scheduled on Monday, October 7, 2024.
- Tuesday, October 8, 2024, will serve as a make-up day for all on-site classes.
- Final exams will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
- On-site classes will be canceled on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, and Thursday, October 10, 2024.
- The Learning Management System (Canvas) will remain fully accessible to all students until Thursday, October 10, 2024.
- Students on externship sites should check with their site supervisors regarding closures or cancellations. Please take all necessary precautions when traveling to externship locations.
- Students scheduled for certification exams at the Deland, Orlando, Kissimmee, Lakeland, and Tampa campuses will be notified of any changes to exam dates and times. Remote exams will proceed as scheduled unless otherwise noted.
- Classes will resume as usual on Monday, October 14, 2024.

NUC FTC UPDATE TROPICAL STORM MILTON
NUC University, Florida Technical College is actively monitoring Tropical Storm Milton’s path and its potential impact on our campus communities, students, and staff. Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to implement the following updates regarding classes and final exams:
- On-site/Blended classes will proceed as scheduled on Monday, October 7, 2024, at all campuses.
- Tuesday, October 8, 2024, will be designated as a make-up day for all on-site classes at the Deland, Orlando, Kissimmee, Tampa, and Lakeland campuses.
- Final exams will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
- The Learning Management System (LMS) will remain fully accessible to all students as usual until Thursday, October 10, 2024.
- Students scheduled to take certification exams on-site at the Deland, Orlando, Kissimmee, Lakeland, and Tampa campuses will be notified of any changes of day and time. Remote tests will remain as scheduled.

NUC FTC UPDATE TROPICAL STORM HELENE
Due to the anticipated arrival of Tropical Storm Helene, all in-person classes and activities scheduled for this Thursday have been canceled at the Deland, Orlando, Tampa, Lakeland, and Kissimmee campuses.

- Classes Resume: Monday, September 30th, 2024
- Make-Up Day: Tuesday, October 1st, 2024

NUC FTC UPDATE TROPICAL STORM HELENE
In response to the approaching tropical storm Helene, all in-person classes and activities for this Thursday have been canceled for the Tampa, Lakeland, and Kissimmee campuses. Unless otherwise noted, the Tampa, Lakeland, and Kissimmee campuses are scheduled to reopen on Monday, September 30th, 2024, and classes will resume as usual. A make-up day is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, to cover the missed classes.

Update August 4, 2024, at 1:00pm
NUC FTC UPDATE TROPICAL STORM DEBBY
NUC University, Florida Technical College is actively monitoring Tropical Storm Debby’s path and how it will impact our campus communities, students, and staff. With abundant caution, we decided to change the schedule for the week of August 5.
DELAND, KISSIMMEE, LAKELAND, TAMPA, ORLANDO CAMPUSES ONLY
- On-campus sessions in Central Florida for Monday, August 5, will be postponed to Tuesday, August 6.
- The Canvas LMS Learning Management System will remain available and open for assignments to be submitted. The FTC Staff are available and working remotely to assist students. Please email the student support services email with any questions. FTC Student Retention Team ftc-studentservices@FTCCollege.edu.
- The Instructors will provide details in their announcements regarding online and virtual sessions. Students should contact their instructors for further instructions or questions about their class sessions.
NUC FTC will continue to update our website and social media pages with changes to this announcement. Please continue to check our social media pages and website and if weather conditions permit us, we will resume classes on Tuesday.

Hurricane Idalia
NUC FTC and DAVE School Central Florida campuses will reopen tomorrow, August 31, 2023, and on-campus sessions will resume. This includes:
- DeLand NUC FTC Campus
- Orlando NUC FTC Campus
- Tampa NUC FTC Campus
- Lakeland NUC FTC Campus
- Kissimmee NUC FTC Campus
- The DAVE School

Update August 29, 2023, at 2:00 pm
For Central Florida, class sessions were canceled on Wednesday, August 30, 2021, to include Tampa, Lakeland, Kissimmee, Orlando, DeLand, and The DAVE School. Classes will resume on Thursday, August 31, 2023, and make-up days will be communicated to the students by the faculty.
The following campuses will be closed on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, and administrative staff will be work and be available remotely:
- DeLand
- Lakeland
- Tampa
- Orlando
- The DAVE School
- Kissimmee Campus
The Canvas Learning Management System will remain open, and students may continue to engage in their classes remotely; however, live sessions will not be scheduled tomorrow.
The Campuses below will remain open, and classes will remain as scheduled tomorrow, Wednesday, August 30, 2023, and for the remainder of the week:
