Academic Units
NUC University Academic Unit, a technical school founded in 1982 in Orlando, Florida. FTC merged with NUC University in February of 2018. Florida Technical College (FTC) is an academic unit that awards degrees such as bachelor’s and diplomas degrees in the fields of business, technology and healthcare. It also offers technical programs in fields such as culinary arts, beauty, healthcare and construction trades. FTC has seven campuses in Florida (Orlando, Kissimmee, Pembroke Pines, South Miami, Deland, Lakeland y Tampa), and has an annual enrollment of over 3,000 students in more than 25 programs.

NUC University – IBC Technical Division (NUC-IBC), NUC University – Florida Technical College (NUC-FTC), and The Digital Animation & Visual Effects School (The DAVE School) are included in this accreditation. NUC’s accreditation status is Accreditation Reaffirmed. The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status on 2019 was to reaffirm accreditation. MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
FTC Continuing Education (formerly the LaSalle Computer Learning Center), is part of FTC, and is a center for certification preparation and training in business and IT skills for individuals, corporations government organizations, businesses and IT professionals, founded in Tampa (Florida) in 2002.
The Digital Animation and Visual Effects School (DAVE School) is an academic unit of NUC University, founded in 2000 in Orlando, Florida offering Diplomas and Bachelor’s degrees in Visual Effects, Game Production and Virtual Production with extensive practice under industry level supervision. It is located on the backlot of Universal Studios Florida®. Our facility consists of a 36,055 square foot space inside Sound Stage 25. The school space includes administration offices, studio labs, classrooms, 3D print lab, shooting stage with chrome key green cyclorama, motion capture stage and lecture theater.
For over 20 years, The DAVE School has trained entertainment industry 3D artists by connecting students with award-winning industry professionals who bring real-world experience to the classroom. As part of NUC University, DAVE School is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and licensed by the Commission for Independent Education in Florida (CIE).
Founded in 1982 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, NUC University is an accredited institution offering associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in areas such as healthcare (leaders in nursing programs in Puerto Rico), technology, criminal law, business administration, and education. NUC has seven eight campuses: South Florida Campus in Florida State in the United States; Arecibo, Bayamón, Caguas, Escorial, Ponce, Mayagüez and Rio Grande in Puerto Rico, with an annual enrollment of more than 10,000 students. NUC offers more than 40 programs, with a continuing evaluation of academic offerings and educational methodologies, on-campus, hybrids, blended and 100% online.
NUC Online Division was founded in 2007 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, initially specializing on business and technology programs, but since then became a division of the Bayamón Campus, granting associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, expanding to the fields of healthcare and education. Its programs are 100% online, in English and Spanish, tending an annual enrollment of more than 4,000 students in Puerto Rico and the United States.
NUC Continuing Education offers certifications and training to individuals, corporations and government organizations in different areas, including healthcare services and business.
The IBC Technical Division offers NUC University technical programs in Puerto Rico. Previously Instituto de Banca y Comercio (IBC), it was founded in 1974 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a pioneer in professional education, now leading the technical programs offering in Puerto Rico. The IBC Technical Division specializes in granting diplomas in Culinary Arts, Beauty, Healthcare, Administration, IT, Technical, and Arts and Technology. Thirteen offices in Puerto Rico attend an annual enrollment of over more than 10,000 students with more than 30 programs. The IBC Technical Division is authorized by the Board of Post-Secondary Institutions (JIP) through certification 2021-166.
NUC University (NUC) is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE or the Commission) www.msche.org. NUC’s NUC University – IBC Technical Division (NUC-IBC), NUC University – Florida Technical College (NUC-FTC), and The Digital Animation & Visual Effects School (The DAVE School) are included in this accreditation. NUC’s accreditation status is Accreditation Reaffirmed. The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status on 2019 was to reaffirm accreditation. MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education including distance, correspondence education, and direct assessment programs offered at those institutions. The Commission’s geographic area of accrediting activities is throughout the United States.
