The year 2020 presented unexpected challenges, but our FTC community did their best to rise to the occasion to go above and beyond. The commitment by our students to pursue and meet their academic goals, amidst the pandemic and while caring for loved ones was inspiring. To see our students, staff, and faculty use their skills and knowledge to help the community when it needed it the most, was heroic. Let’s take a moment to recognize and appreciate all of the accomplishments that took place this year:
- 11 out of 15 Career Services Professionals and 4 students graduated with their Global Career Development Facility (GCDF) certification
- Created a Healthcare Heroes Scholarship amidst COVID-19 to offer a new incentive for students considering a career in the field of Healthcare
- Partnered with META Teletherapy for Remote Mental Health Counseling Services amidst COVID-19
- Partnered with the Orlando Magic to become the Official Technical School of the Orlando Magic
- Became a trustee for the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida
- Named Institution of the Year by the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges (FAPSC)
- Awarded Graduate of the Year and Educator of the Year by FAPSC
- Donated more than 2,500 backpacks with school supplies to our Central and South Florida communities at our annual Back to School Event
- Recognized by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings for our community service
- Partnered with the Hispanic Federation for our Register to Vote Initiative
- Partnered with the Miami Dolphins to become the Official Culinary School of the Miami Dolphins
- Hosted the 2020 Orange County Hispanic Youth Leadership Award Ceremony
- All of our Directors of Admissions earned the prestigious Certified Higher Education Professional (CHEP) credential
