August 9, 2024 Orlando, FL — Back-to-school season is underway and NUC University/Florida Technical College celebrated on July 20th and 27th with free backpacks and school supplies offered across NUC-FTC’s Florida locations. More than 3,400 total attended for the festivities that included free haircuts, face painting, and ice cream s at Kissimmee, and complimentary face painting d at Miami. Additionally, multiple locations provided back-to-school and sports physicals.
Besides backpacks and other essential school supplies, the event provided two laptops per campus location through Archangel Education and Technology, as part of a raffle donation for each community. Other giveaways included the following:
- 1 Samsung Tablet from the Early Learning Coalition
- 4 Tickets to Disney on Ice by the Osceola Star Newspaper
- Kids Toy Set by My Realty
Event turnout was a success throughout our Florida locations, with hundreds in attendance at each campus:
- Orlando: about 750
- DeLand: about 600
- Kissimmee: 800+
- Lakeland: 600+
- Miami: 400+
- Tampa: about 300
Community partnerships at each location featured Rays’ cheerleaders and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Tampa Bay at the Tampa campus; Dolphins’ cheerleaders at Pembroke Pines.
Beyond giving back during Back to School, NUC-FTC has served the Florida community for more than 40 years through career-focused education, and has grown to add locations throughout the state, including Deland, Kissimmee, Orlando, Lakeland, South Miami, Pembroke Pines, Tampa, South Miami, and DAVE School.
