Orlando, FL. / May 15 — Florida Technical College (FTC) is proud to announce the launch of its Practical Nursing diploma program, a comprehensive educational offering designed to meet the rising demand for skilled nursing professionals across Florida. With a strong emphasis on hands-on training and clinical competencies, the 48-week program prepares students to provide compassionate, competent care to patients in a variety of healthcare settings.
The Practical Nursing program combines rigorous academic instruction with immersive clinical experiences. Students will complete 1,350 contact hours across classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments, gaining vital expertise in areas such as medical-surgical nursing, maternal and newborn care, pediatrics, mental health, and geriatric care.
Graduates of the practical nursing program will earn a Diploma in Practical Nursing and become eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN and apply for their Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential. Curriculum integrates key principles of health promotion, disease prevention, pharmacology, ethical practice, and patient safety, while emphasizing the development of interpersonal and communication skills necessary for today’s healthcare environments. Students will be trained on medical equipment and simulation technologies, including high-fidelity manikins, SIM Mom and SIM Baby models, venipuncture training arms, and medication carts, among others.
